RGM: The Nightly Rundown (July 12): Drake, Drake & More Drake

Drake warmed hearts and pissed people off today.

TOP STORIES OF THE DAY (JUNE 12)

Drake Disses LeBron James At Wireless Fest

Drake’s rumored falling out with LeBron James hasn’t been officially confirmed, but all signs point to tension between the rapper and the NBA legend.

While performing at the Wireless Festival, fans noticed a striking new tattoo—Drake had covered up LeBron’s picture and replaced it with an image of superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Adding fuel to the fire, during his performance of “Nonstop,” Drake altered the lyrics once again, rapping “6 to 23 but no LeBron.”

While he has made this switch before, this time feels different, especially with growing speculation that his recent track, “What Did I Miss?,” is a direct response to issues with LeBron.

Kyrie Irving Skips “Like That” And Plays “What Did I Miss?”

Strangely enough, Kyrie Irving has emerged as one of Drake’s most vocal supporters. He’s been praising the rapper on livestreams and even made headlines recently for skipping Kendrick Lamar’s “Like That” to play Drake’s “What Did I Miss?” instead.

Could there be some behind-the-scenes tension between Kyrie and LeBron James that hasn’t gone public yet? Hmmm… whatever the reason, one thing is clear: Kyrie has picked a side—and it’s not Team Bron.

Drake Indulges In “F**k Kendrick” Chants

Drake spent much of his time today throwing subtle jabs, but one moment at Wireless Festival was anything but subtle. During his set, streamer Adin Ross led a loud “f**k Kendrick” chant from the crowd, and Drake leaned right into it, asking his longtime friend Chubbs for a celebratory shot. He also reminded the crowd that the 1,243 people trying to stop his wave still haven’t succeeded.

Drake Says London Rappers Are The Best Rappers Ever

Remember that “pissed people off” part I said in the intro? Yeah, that moment came quick—when Drake boldly declared that London rappers are the best in the world. Like, bro… have you heard of JAY-Z? Have you heard of Lil Wayne? Why say this when you know the rap world will come for your neck? It felt like a love letter to the U.K. that might’ve gone a little too far.

Drake Shows He Still Has Friends In The Industry

Just like he did yesterday, Drake turned his Wireless Festival set into a star-studded spectacle, bringing out Latto, Yeat, 21 Savage, Mario, and even Vanessa Carlton (yes, that Vanessa Carlton). It was a wild mix, but the crowd ate it up. What made it even more memorable? Most of the guests took a moment to pay homage to Drake, acknowledging his impact and legacy in real time. It was one of those “only Drake could pull this off” moments—and he made sure to soak it all in.

Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion Make It Instagram Official

Guys, this might be the most unexpected couple in American history: after weeks of swirling rumors, it’s official—Klay Thompson is dating Megan Thee Stallion. The NBA sharpshooter made it Instagram official, proudly posting photos of the two together, confirming what fans had only speculated. Not gonna lie, I didn’t know Klay had that kind of game, but clearly, the Splash Brother made a major splash off the court.
