Tyler, The Creator’s “DON’T TAP THE GLASS” Drops Monday

These past 14 days in the hip-hop world have been epic.

Tyler, The Creator is officially back—and he’s not here to play by any rules. His upcoming album DON’T TAP THE GLASS drops this Monday, July 21 at 6AM EST, and the buzz is already electric. With LeBron James shouting “LFG!!!!!” in support and fans gearing up for a $5 release show in Los Angeles (with one very Tyler-specific disclaimer: “DON’T COME IF YOU AREN’T GOING TO DANCE”), the rollout is raw, wild, and refreshingly unfiltered.

Adding even more weight to the release, the album lands on the 8-year anniversary of Tyler’s critically-acclaimed Flower Boy—a pivotal moment that marked his growth as an artist. But if you’re expecting DON’T TAP THE GLASS to be another polished concept album in the style of IGOR or Call Me If You Get Lost, think again. Tyler is keeping it honest, posting: “Y’all better get them expectations and hopes down—this ain’t no concept nothing.” Instead, fans can expect a more freeform and energetic Tyler, going back to his roots while still pushing his own boundaries.

Whether it’s the cryptic teaser clips, chaotic visual rollouts, or his now-signature genre-bending sound, DON’T TAP THE GLASS feels like it’s going to be a creative explosion. Tyler’s last album, CHROMAKOPIA, debuted with 300,000 units first week—his biggest numbers yet—and with hype building fast, this new drop could challenge that.

One thing’s clear: when Tyler says, “Burn this sht down, turn this sht up,” he means it. And with the King himself, LeBron, already tuned in? Monday just became unmissable.
