Tyler, The Creator is really that guy.
Tyler, The Creator’s new album DON’T TAP THE GLASS has wasted no time making its mark. In just a partial day of tracking, the project has already earned a staggering 41 million Spotify streams, instantly placing it among the biggest debuts of the year.
Following a mysterious and meme-worthy rollout, DON’T TAP THE GLASS arrived with explosive energy and eclectic flair. The album, which sees Tyler blending breakbeats, funky synths, and off-the-wall bars with soulful hooks, has generated intense social media chatter—especially with standout tracks like “Big Poe” and “Ring Ring Ring.”

Based on social media, the album has garnered mixed reviews. Some fans have praised the album’s carefree yet commanding sound, while others criticized it for being too gimmicky. I am on the side of praising. To me, it showcases Tyler at his most experimental and confident, with chaotic transitions, unfiltered lyrics, and moments of unexpected vulnerability.
With DON’T TAP THE GLASS already off to a record-setting start, all eyes are on what comes next for Tyler. That said, I’m loving this trend of musicians dropping carefree albums for the love of the music. Kendrick did it, Lizzo did it, and now Tyler has done it.
