Lithe & Don Toliver Join Forces in “Cannonball”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

These two are about to dive in.

Don Toliver teamed up with Lithe for their new track “Cannonball,” and the vibe is smooth, electronic, and undeniably late-night. The production leans heavily into an ambient, futuristic sound, almost hypnotic in nature. Don Toliver’s verse fits the mood well, floating through the beat with his signature melodic style. It’s hazy, sultry, and feels made for dim lights and quiet rooms.

While I think the vibe is polished and the blend between Don and Lithe is seamless—they really do flow into each other effortlessly—I found the track just a little too monotonous for my taste. It doesn’t offer much dynamic contrast, so it tends to linger in one zone. That said, it still works as a mood piece if you’re into chill, synth-heavy tracks.

The song’s theme is classic R&B flirtation—a late-night link-up, if you catch my drift. Nothing groundbreaking conceptually, but the delivery is clean and smooth. If you’re in the mood for something lowkey and vibey, give it a spin. Check it out below.
