TRACK-BY-TRACK RANKINGS

4. MR. MEDIA (????)

Can you even call the police on someone who put you under a spell?

No one is better at hypnotizing you than Tyla. “MR. MEDIA” rides on stomping, almost soporific production that lulls you in while it pulses underneath. Over it, Tyla slips into her Genie-from-Aladdin bag, delivering melodies that reel you closer and vocal shifts that are bold, rambunctious, and urgent.

Lyrically, it’s compelling: she calls out the media for their lies while reaffirming her self-belief. Fans will lock into the trance-like vibe, the range in her vocal styling, and the fact that she’s fully prepared to defend herself.

3. DYNAMITE (????)

When Tyla goes head-to-head with another artist on a track, it gets spicier than medium Pad Ka Prow (It’s f**king nuts that medium Ka Prow is spicy as hell).

“DYNAMITE” is the definition of sexy. The production has a steamy, jungle-inspired vibe that sets the mood for sweat, grinding, and whispered temptations. Tyla delivers some of her most seductive vocals to date, while Wizkid matches the energy with effortless cool, giving her space to shine. The two trade verses about linking up for some late-night activities that range from PG-13 to full-on rated-R. Their chemistry is undeniable, the heat is real, and the groove? Irresistible.

2. BLISS (?????)

Who is lucky enough to have Tyla sprung? Please don’t tell me T-Pain…

When it comes to the most magical track on the album, “BLISS” stands out without question. The instrumental leans into a dramatic, cinematic feel, complete with captivating synths, a strong rhythmic pulse, and an almost festive undercurrent that gives it real emotional lift.

Tyla delivers her vocals with a sense of yearning and urgency, channeling a vulnerable intensity as she sings about someone who has her completely entranced, much like LeBron is in “Not Like Us.” It’s a track bursting with energy and emotion, revealing Tyla at her most open and dynamic.

1. IS IT (?????)

I would fold if Tyla asked me any question… Like anything.

I absolutely love the version of Tyla we get on “IS IT.” The track is powered by a hard-hitting, slightly mischievous instrumental that practically dares you to dance—even if it’s the kind of dance you’ll regret the moment someone pulls out a camera. From the jump, Tyla taps into a flirtatious, emotionally open energy, essentially asking her lover a bold question: Is it wrong that I have these naughty thoughts about you?

Throughout the track, she blends sensual curiosity with moments of sweetness, singing about her desire to dance and bask in the little sentimental moments with her partner. The chorus? Gorgeous. The production? Action-packed and full of bounce (even if the intro feels a little shaky).

What truly sells the song is Tyla herself—confident, playful, and completely locked into the vibe. And let’s be honest, if you’re a guy listening to this, it might sting just a little to know she’s clearly head over heels for someone else who isn’t one of us broke boys. Still, it’s a banger through and through.
