Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist’s “ALFREDO 2” Set for Career-Best Debut with 38K First-Week Sales

This is a pretty solid number for some underdogs.

Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist’s highly anticipated sequel ALFREDO 2 lived up to the hype—according to early projections, the album is expected to move 38,000 units in its first week, including 15,000 in pure sales. That’s good enough to debut at #12 on the Billboard 200, marking a new career peak in weekly sales for both artists.

This milestone cements the duo’s place in the upper echelon of hip-hop’s elite. Their 2020 Grammy-nominated ALFREDO was a critical darling, but the sequel shows just how much their cult following has grown. With ALFREDO 2, the numbers are catching up to the acclaim.

Powered by revenge bars, lush production, and undeniable chemistry, ALFREDO 2 finds Gibbs and Alchemist sharper and more in sync than ever. From introspective bars to heavyweight street anthems, the project plays like a celebration of craftsmanship—hip-hop built on soul, skill, and substance.

While neither Gibbs nor Alchemist has historically prioritized chart dominance, this debut proves that authenticity and longevity can still translate into commercial wins. If these early numbers hold, ALFREDO 2 won’t just be one of the most respected rap albums of the year—it’ll also be one of the most successful.
