Tory Lanez Releases “Quarantine” & “Nobody”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Are we sure Tory Lanez is even alive right now?

Tory Lanez has officially been in jail for two years this month, but it hasn’t felt like it — he and his camp have been dropping music nonstop since he went in. To put things in perspective, Wale, who is completely free, hasn’t released even an eighth of the songs Tory has put out in that time. Just yesterday, the Canadian rapper returned with two new tracks: “Nobody” and “Quarantine.”

“Nobody” is a bouncy, laid-back banger with a bass-heavy beat. Despite Tory leaning into a softer melodic rap style, he talks his shit nonstop, rapping about wiping out his competition, rolling with killers, and stealing women. It almost feels like he intended for the song to be a club banger at first, but got into the studio in a bad mood and decided to let loose with some savage bars instead.

On the other hand, “Quarantine” is a colorful, high-energy club anthem. Tory adopts an even more laid-back tone here, turning up his vocals now and then as he raps about smashing women and enjoying good vibes wherever there’s liquor, women, and a party atmosphere.

Both songs are fun and showcase Tory Lanez’s versatility, proving he can keep the energy flowing no matter the circumstances.
