D.N.T., Lil Xay, Jack DeNicola Don’t Wanna Be “Away From You”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

A radiant pop gem that powerfully captures the pain of heartache and the longing desire to reconnect with the person you care for most.

D.N.T. is a producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose work has graced stages and studios alongside some of the biggest names in music, including Post Malone, Ariana Grande, and Chris Brown.

Over the past decade, his guitar playing and production have helped shape hits across genres. More recently, he teamed up with Lil Xay—a rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, and pianist known for blending hip-hop, rap, R&B, jazz, soul, electronic, and pop into his sound. Influenced by icons from Kendrick Lamar to Ray Charles, Lil Xay crafts soul-bearing lyrics over smooth, intricate production.

Rounding out the trio is New York-based singer-songwriter Jack DeNicola, who aims to give listeners comfort, healing, and inspiration through relatable and vulnerable storytelling.

Together, the three artists created “Away From You,” a vibrant pop single that radiates warmth and positivity. Built on easygoing guitar riffs and upbeat, infectious rhythms, the track feels like a sunbeam on your skin. It’s the kind of feel-good soundscape that invites a smile from the very first note.

Lyrically, “Away From You” speaks to the ache of separation and the hope for reconciliation. Lines like “I’ve been missing your company, can I get you to run to me? ’Cause I’m lonely and I don’t wanna be blue” and “Can we ignore all of the nonsense, you see where my heart is now, No I don’t wanna be friends, can we try and make amends somehow?” bring an intimate vulnerability to the song. The sentiments are universal—longing for someone you love and wanting to bridge the emotional gap that distance creates.

With lush vocals, heartfelt lyricism, and shimmering summertime energy, “Away From You” is a pop gem that blends skillful musicianship with pure emotion.
