Khalid Returns with Funky, Pop-Driven Single “In Plain Sight”

Rating: 4 out of 5.
Khalid in plain sight

Khalid is back with new music, and it is so refreshing.

Khalid made his return on August 15th with his new single “In Plain Sight,” and let me just say — I have missed my boy Khalid. This track leans more pop-forward than his usual sound, bringing a funky, danceable energy that feels fresh but still unmistakably him. From the first beat, it’s the kind of song that gets stuck in your head for days, and I’m not even mad about it.

Khalid comes into this one with pure attitude — smooth, confident, and a little sassy. While he has always had this silky, laid-back delivery, here he sings in a slightly higher register, adding a bright, bubbly edge to his tone. It’s playful, it’s fun, and it feels like we’re getting a whole new side of him.

“In Plain Sight” is the perfect soundtrack for a night out, whether you’re hitting the club or just dancing around with your friends. It’s Khalid experimenting with his sound and absolutely making it work.
