That Mexican OT – Recess
(76%)
That Mexican OT is a wild n***a!
I hope you spotted the sarcasm in that first paragraph. Recess is an absolute banger from That Mexican OT, a project where he fully embraces his role as the Mexican Dennis the Menace. Built around a schoolyard-of-chaos theme, OT delivers fiery verses that showcase everything from his wild love life—whether it’s married women or ones straight out of a cartoon—to his quick-trigger temper and fearless approach to handling enemies, not to mention his unapologetic indulgence in drugs. Throughout the album, he keeps listeners on their toes with tongue-twisting flows, punchy animated moments, and even unexpected bursts of country-style singing.
Production-wise, the album is top-notch. It moves effortlessly between authentic Texas bangers, slick hip-hop backdrops, and surprisingly smooth country-inspired sounds. Guest appearances hit all the right notes too, from frequent collaborators like Peso Peso, Lil Jairmy, and Sauce Walka to heavy hitters like Lil Wayne, Denzel Curry, and BigxThaPlug. Notably, there are no R&B singers, keeping the focus squarely on OT’s unapologetic, in-your-face style. Each feature complements his approach perfectly, and the album maintains a consistent, dynamic flow from start to finish.
One of the standout elements? The skits. They’re hilarious, giving listeners a glimpse into OT’s mischievous school days with his signature humor and charisma.
Overall, Recess is a wildly entertaining and cohesive project that showcases That Mexican OT at his most daring, unfiltered, and creative.

Babyface Ray – Codeine Cowboy
(75%)
This would be an Album of the Year nominee if Babyface Ray didn’t mumble so much…
This project showcases two sides of Babyface Ray. The first disc leans into hard-hitting bangers, packed with flexes, brags, and gritty tales, all set over some of the hardest-hitting beats and featuring the biggest guest appearances. The second disc reveals a more vulnerable, introspective side, with tracks centered on love, relationships, and his rise in the game. While mumble rap and disinterested deliveries aren’t usually my cup of tea, Babyface Ray proves his skill here—crafting hooks that stick, lyrics that hit, and surprisingly strong melodies throughout. Overall, this album is a seriously solid listen.
