4batz is stepping back into the spotlight with a fresh single that reminds us why he’s one of the most intriguing new voices in music.
Sometimes timing in music can be brutal, and 4batz knows that firsthand. His debut project, u made me a st4r, unfortunately dropped right in the middle of the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar beef, one of the most chaotic rap moments in recent memory. With diss records flying left and right, his project didn’t get the full attention it deserved. But now, the Dallas artist is back with another chance to shine — this time with his upcoming album Still Shinin.
The first taste of the project comes in the form of his new single “my lil shootah.” On it, 4batz is caught up in admiration for his girl, practically calling her the best thing since sliced bread. She’s fine, loyal, and knows how to move with him, both romantically and in the grittier sides of life.
Production-wise, “my lil shootah” carries a cloudy, dreamlike atmosphere that feels tailor-made for late-night stares, while gun reload sounds and trap-inspired layers add an edge. Vocally, 4batz shines by balancing smooth melodies with bursts of emotion. He even throws in his signature chipmunk effect, giving the track a playful yet hypnotic twist that makes it stand out.
