Teyana Taylor’s ‘Escape Room’ Debuts at #67 on Billboard 200

Teyana Taylor makes her long-awaited return with Escape Room, her first album in five years.

Teyana Taylor has officially returned with her long-awaited album Escape Room, which debuted at #67 on this week’s Billboard 200 with 14.5K units sold. For fans, this project was five years in the making, following her 2020 release simply titled The Album. With Escape Room, Taylor steps back into the spotlight with an evolved, more vulnerable sound that feels both personal and intentional.

One of the most unique elements of Escape Room is its lineup of collaborators. Instead of leaning on rappers, Taylor surrounds herself with singers and actresses who add depth and dimension to the project. The features include Tyla, Jill Scott, and Lucky Daye on the vocal side, while Sarah Paulson, La La Anthony, and Niecy Nash bring star power from Hollywood. The result is a project that feels collaborative yet distinctively hers.

Musically, Escape Room showcases Taylor’s fine-tuned R&B style, blending sensuality with introspection. Standout tracks such as “Hard Part,” “Pum Pum Jump,” “Fine Girl,” and “Long Time” have done well on streaming platforms.

Taylor’s latest project feels like a reintroduction. Escape Room is less about proving herself and more about reclaiming her space in music—reminding fans that her artistry and voice remain undeniable.
