A dream-like genre-fusing gem that feels like a wonderfully timeless treasure.
Stockholm-born artist Moulod approaches music with a simple truth: it all begins with words. He writes constantly, using lyrics to strip down lived experiences and uncover what’s real. His sound isn’t tied to a single genre—whether it’s lo-fi, hip-hop, R&B, indie, rock, or blues, Moulod uses whatever best carries the story forward. As he puts it, he’s not chasing a come-up; instead, he’s writing truth into sound, leaving it for those who recognize themselves in his craft.
His latest release, the Afrobeat-inspired single “Kitsune,” continues that mission. On SoundCloud, Moulod explained, “This song is about being done with shallow encounters, people chasing the surface of your lifestyle without understanding where you came from.” It’s a declaration of wanting depth over empty connections.
The track itself is as hypnotic as it is heartfelt. With its dance-inducing beat and laidback instrumentation, “Kitsune” builds an inviting atmosphere that feels intimate and easygoing. Lyrically, Moulod is at his most raw and reflective, dropping lines like: “Less is all I have, success don’t fill the gap, emotions out of gas” and “You ask for this lifestyle, but don’t ask for the struggle.”
What emerges is a dream-like, genre-fusing gem that blends Afrobeats and R&B into something warm, melodic, and deeply human. With “Kitsune,” Moulod reminds us that beneath the surface, there’s always a story worth hearing—if we’re willing to listen.
