Once hip hop’s favorite tag team, Rick Ross and Drake are now lobbing petty jabs instead of platinum hits.
Rick Ross has once again taken aim at Drake, this time mocking his Iceman Episode 3 rollout by calling the album “white man” and cosigning Kai Cenat’s viral take that the project is “ass.” The jab is just the latest in their ongoing back-and-forth, a feud that has transformed one of rap’s most reliable collaborations into a spectacle of petty shots and trolling.
The two rappers once had undeniable chemistry, crafting timeless records like “Stay Schemin,” “Diced Pineapples,” “Lord Knows,” and “Ashton Martin Music.” For over a decade, they exchanged features almost equally, boosting each other’s catalogs and maintaining a level of mutual respect. But things soured when Ross alleged Drake blocked a French Montana collaboration with a cease and desist, setting the stage for tension that quickly escalated.
Ross later appeared on Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You, a project notorious for its heavy Drake disses. Though he didn’t take direct shots on his verse, Ross began trolling immediately after, calling Drake “white boy” repeatedly online and even dropping his own diss track, “Champagne Moments.” Drake fired back with pointed lines on “Family Matters” and “Push Ups,” while some fans believe he slid in subtle digs on newer tracks like “What Did I Miss?”
The feud has been more petty than lyrical, disappointing fans who remember the undeniable classics the duo once created. While their history makes the beef entertaining to watch, it’s also bittersweet—hip hop is left wondering what could have been if two of its most consistent hitmakers hadn’t turned their energy from making heat to trading shots. At this point, a reunion seems unlikely.
