Young Thug Backs Metro Boomin’s Decision to Cut Ties with Drake in Leaked Call

Who hasn’t Young Thug dissed?

Young Thug’s leaked phone calls keep stirring the pot, and the latest one finds him backing Metro Boomin’s decision not to work with Drake. In the clip, Thugger makes a series of sharp comments, referencing the death of Metro’s mother and accusing Drake of being insincere. “Mama dead, she never coming back,” Thug says before adding, “Drake so stupid he probably sent some stupid condolences.”

The call goes further, with Thug accusing Drake of leveraging his superstar status unfairly: “You’re using the fact that you’re Drake as a weapon now.” These comments highlight growing tensions between Drake and key Atlanta figures, especially given Metro Boomin’s central role in shaping the sound of rap today.

This all ties back to the release of We Don’t Trust You, Metro Boomin and Future’s album filled with shots at Drake—most notably the Kendrick Lamar–featuring “Like That,” which pushed the Drake/Kendrick feud into overdrive. While Drake has kept dropping subliminals, the pressure around him seems to grow with every new leak from Thug.

What makes this even more complex is that Drake was one of the loudest voices calling for Young Thug’s freedom during his RICO case. He even landed a feature on Business Is Business, the album Thug released from behind bars. Now, with Thugger throwing shade at him while showing loyalty to Metro, it looks like the ties between Drake and Atlanta’s rap elite may be fully unraveling.
