Two years is a long wait, but dvsn has made it worth it.
dvsn has been quiet for quite some time. How long, you ask? Two years. Their last proper release came in 2023 with the single “Let It Snow.” Now, the duo is officially back, dropping not one but two new singles: “Excited” and “Love On You.”
“Excited” feels like something Timbaland and Ginuwine might’ve cooked up in the late ’90s. The sultry instrumental is built for slow-grinding and intentional, no-rush intimacy. The chorus carries shades of Ginuwine’s “So Anxious,” while Daniel Daley’s passionate, engulfing vocals add a thirsty urgency to the mix. If you’ve been missing that classic R&B energy, this track scratches the itch.
On the other hand, “Love On You” flips the script. Instead of late-night vibes, it leans into an upbeat, retro ’80s-inspired production that channels a Luther Vandross–like feel. Daniel plays with different tones throughout his performance, from falsetto to high-pitched cries to a more grounded delivery where you can hear the joy in his voice. The chorus in particular shines, making it one of dvsn’s most infectious offerings in a while.
Together, these singles mark a strong return for dvsn—two distinct vibes, both rooted in timeless R&B sensibilities. After two years away, it feels like the duo is back in their bag.
