Young Thug Gets Reflective on New Seven-Minute Track “Man I Miss My Dogs”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Young Thug turns controversy into catharsis with his soulful new seven-minute track “Man I Miss My Dogs.”

Not many people had a rougher August than Young Thug. Nearly every day seemed to bring a new leaked video of private calls in which he spoke critically about others, sparking controversy across social media. While many of the people mentioned have stayed quiet, Thugger has steadily addressed the situation—first in interviews and letters, and now through his most revealing medium: music.

His new single, “Man I Miss My Dogs,” runs an introspective seven minutes and unfolds over a soulful, emotional instrumental perfectly suited for raw reflection. Young Thug uses the extended runtime to open up about the people closest to him, offering a rare window into his thoughts during a turbulent time.

In the track, Thugger apologizes to Mariah The Scientist for drawing her into the phone-call drama, thanks Drake for his ongoing support, and urges Lil Baby to pick up the phone while acknowledging the financial help he’s received for his legal battles. He also shares that he tried to mend fences between Drake and Metro Boomin, credits Future as an inspiration and “big brother,” and praises 21 Savage as one of his most loyal friends.

By the end of “Man I Miss My Dogs,” Young Thug delivers more than a musical statement—it’s a heartfelt confession and a testament to the relationships that have shaped him, even amid public scrutiny and personal challenges.
