Even though people like to say hip-hop lacks variety, the list of the most-streamed hip-hop albums proves otherwise.
5. Can’t Rush Greatness – Central Cee (22.5 Million)

People really forgot this album even dropped—and honestly, I get it since it came out back on January 24. What blows me away, though, is how strong it is. It’s straight-up gritty UK drill, and it still held its own even with a lot of folks acting like there isn’t room in the game for UK rappers. Central Cee is out here breaking down borders.
Most-Streamed Track: “BAND 4 BAND”
4. Travis Scott and Cactus Jack – JACKBOYS 2 (35.7 Million)

Out of all the albums that dropped this year, this one let me down the most. A lot of the tracks feel like they were built just to ride hype instead of substance. Still, when it first released, it steamrolled everything in its path—including my personal album of the year, Let God Sort ’Em Out.
Most-Streamed Track: “KICK OUT!”
3. Tyler, The Creator – DON’T TAP THE GLASS (41 Million)

I don’t even call him Tyler, The Creator anymore—I call him Big Tyler. Whenever he decides to drop, he does it his way and stomps the competition. DON’T TAP THE GLASS, just like JACKBOYS 2, landed on a random Monday instead of the usual Friday, and still racked up streams while we were all at our desks trying to keep our screens from going idle. That kind of originality keeps paying off for Tyler as he chose to release this as a passion project with the persona of a D-Boy.
Most-Streamed Track: “SUGAR ON MY TONGUE”
2. $ome $exy $ongs 4 U (56.4 Million)

I told you Drake was uncancellable. Sure, we can all admit he took an L in that battle with Kendrick last year, but the second he dropped a new project with PARTYNEXTDOOR, he came back like cooked crack. The funny part? Everyone forgets this was meant to be an R&B release. “SOMEBODY LOVES ME” is doing great, but it’s “DIE TRYING” and “NOKIA” that are running up the streams. Y’all just can’t stop listening to Drake.
Most-Streamed Track: “NOKIA”
1. Playboi Carti – MUSIC (139 Million)

Do people even realize how hard Playboi Carti crushed the competition? He more than doubled the numbers of whoever landed at #2. I see a few reasons for that. First off, the album’s got thirty tracks—way more chances to rack up streams. Second, most of those songs feel huge, the kind you end up replaying nonstop. And last, this was easily one of the most-hyped projects in ages. Add it all up and it makes perfect sense why it’s sitting at number one.
Favorite Tracks: “RATHER LIE”
