Toosii & NBA YoungBoy Team Up on Emotional Single “Please Don’t Go”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Toosii and NBA YoungBoy drop “Please Don’t Go,” a heartfelt alternative hip-hop track that blends raw emotion with unconventional structure.

Toosii has been busy balancing football and music, but he’s clearly not stepping away from the studio just yet. His new single with NBA YoungBoy, “Please Don’t Go,” is his first release since July’s “Even When” and shows him navigating heartbreak through music.

The track opens with NBA YoungBoy delivering a numb, emotionally charged verse that sets the tone for the pleading and introspection to follow. Toosii follows with a chorus that mixes springy delivery and a hint of melancholy, creating a tug-of-war between urgency and restraint.

Production-wise, “Please Don’t Go” leans into alternative hip-hop with a gentle instrumental that could fit an Anderson .Paak track. The soundscape shifts around the vocals, giving each artist room to play with tone and phrasing, even if the structure feels a little scattered at times.

Ultimately, the song succeeds because of its raw emotion. While it doesn’t settle into a conventional format, the combination of Toosii’s melodic pleas and NBA YoungBoy’s detached intensity makes “Please Don’t Go” a track that sticks in your head longer than expected.
