Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” Takes Over Apple Music Charts

Taylor Swift’s new album The Life of a Showgirl wasted no time reaching the top of the US iTunes chart.

Taylor Swift is once again showing the music industry what true dominance looks like. Her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, has now hit #1 on US Apple Music, joining its earlier climb to the top of US iTunes just hours after release. To make things even wilder, Taylor currently holds 14 of the top 15 spots on the Apple Music Singles chart, all with songs pulled from multiple versions of the project. At this point, she’s basically competing with herself.

The album itself feels like one of Taylor’s boldest eras yet. Across 12 tracks (including a guest feature from Sabrina Carpenter), she throws glitter on grit, mixing love songs, shade, family reflection, and straight-up fame commentary. It’s dynamic, it’s unfiltered, and it’s a lot more playful than her last couple of albums. It’s Taylor in full “showgirl” mode—minus the sequins and feather boas, though let’s be honest, she could pull those off too.

In our review, we praised The Life of a Showgirl for blending pop, indie, and grungy edges with some of her sharpest storytelling in years. Songs like “Elizabeth Taylor” and “Actually Romantic” showcase her wit, while moodier cuts like “Ruin the Friendship” remind fans that no matter how bright the lights are, there’s still depth behind them. It’s a project that manages to be fun without being shallow, glittery without being empty.

Now that she’s officially on top of Apple Music and iTunes, the only question left is: how long does Taylor keep the crown? With chart projections already predicting weeks of dominance, it seems The Life of a Showgirl is just warming up. The spotlight isn’t moving anytime soon—unless Taylor decides to dim it herself.
