In a world where hip-hop is trending downwards, Drake really isn’t.
Drake was the most-streamed rapper of September on Spotify with a jaw-dropping 1.57 billion streams across all credits — marking his eighth consecutive month holding the title.
What’s most impressive is that Drake hasn’t dropped a major solo album all year. His only release came in February, a collaborative project with PARTYNEXTDOOR titled $ome $exy $ongs 4 U. Still, that hasn’t slowed down the 6 God one bit. His timeless catalog continues to thrive, with Views ranking as one of Spotify’s most-streamed hip-hop albums daily and Take Care re-entering the Billboard Top 20 more than a decade after its release.
Even his latest pre-singles — “WHICH ONE,” “WHAT DID I MISS?” and “DOGHOUSE” (allegedly his) — have kept fans entertained and the numbers soaring.
If there’s one clear thing, it’s that hip-hop still needs Drake — and the numbers don’t lie.
