Clipse’s Pusha T and Malice address the timing of Travis Scott’s “JACKBOYS 2” release, industry competition, and botting allegations surrounding “Let God Sort Em Out.”
Clipse’s long-awaited project, Let God Sort Em Out, arrived amidst a flurry of industry chatter—and not all of it positive. Travis Scott’s JACKBOYS 2 dropped around the same time, leading to speculation about whether the timing was intentional. Pusha T and Malice are addressing the situation head-on.
On the notion of “competition” in music, Pusha T was candid:
“You cheat. We cheat. Everybody cheats. F*ck it.”
Malice added a pragmatic perspective on the nature of power and opportunity in the industry:
“Listen, everybody has a right to do what they do. Whatever you have the power to do, whatever tools you have to utilize. That goes for everybody, even us. Let’s just play and see what it is. We embrace it all and love it all. Ain’t no sitting around moping and wishing—nah, let’s rock.”
The duo also addressed swirling botting allegations around their album’s rollout. Pusha T called the rumors “corny” and emphasized his disdain for dishonesty:
“Lemme tell you something. That’s corny. If you knew what I thought about botting, you wouldn’t even do that to me. Bro, what?”
At the end of the day, the release timing doesn’t matter when the music speaks for itself. Let God Sort Em Out, recently earning several Grammy nominations, proves that a strong album always wins. Things worked out brilliantly for Clipse, and I couldn’t be happier.
