These are the defining hip-hop events that made history today.
1. Kid Cudi Dropped Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager (November 9, 2010)

Is this one of the strangest titles in hip-hop history? Absolutely. Is it also one of the best album covers ever? Without question. While Kid Cudi’s sophomore album didn’t carry the same hype as his debut, it still stands as a powerful and underrated project. On it, Cudi dives deep into his struggles with depression while delivering standout crossover hits like “Erase Me,” “Mr. Rager,” and “REVOFEV.” Honestly, it’s one of his most slept-on albums.
2. Pooh Shiesty’s Birthday (November 9, 1999)

I’m not sure Pooh Shiesty will ever fully live up to the massive fame he gained after releasing “Back In Blood,” but he’s still got plenty of time to prove himself. Following the success of his Shiesty Season album, his momentum was unfortunately halted by jail time, which kept him from building on that breakthrough. Now that he’s out, though, I expect him to make a strong comeback. Let’s not forget—he’s still incredibly young.
3. French Montana’s Birthday (November 9, 1984)

I’ll be completely honest with you — I didn’t think French Montana’s career would last this long. Yet here we are, over 15 years later, and he’s still standing strong. French has managed to stay relevant by consistently linking up with some of the best rappers in the game and focusing on crafting hits every time he steps back into the spotlight. All things considered, French has aged remarkably well in this industry.

Quincy is the creator of Ratings Game Music. He loves writing about music, taking long walks on beaches, and spaghetti that fights him back.
