Taylor Swift extends her reign atop the Billboard Hot 100 while Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” makes a historic return to the top 10 for the first time since 1984.

The Billboard Hot 100 chart this week brings both modern dominance and timeless nostalgia. Taylor Swift continues her record-breaking run at #1, while Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” makes an astonishing return to the top 10—marking its first appearance there since its original chart run back in 1984.

Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” remains the #1 song in the country for a fifth consecutive week, showing no signs of slowing down. Meanwhile, Netflix’s Kpop Demon Hunters soundtrack hit “Golden” holds steady at #2, followed by Alex Warren’s long-running hit “Ordinary” at #3.

Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need” continues to hold strong at #5, while Justin Bieber’s “DAISIES” and Kehlani’s “Folded” remain in the top 10, showing impressive staying power.

But the biggest story of the week is undoubtedly Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” The King of Pop’s Halloween classic jumped 22 spots to land at #10, four decades after its original peak at #4. With this achievement, Michael Jackson becomes the first and only artist in history to chart inside the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10 in six consecutive decades—the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and now the 2020s.
