PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake’s collaborative album “$OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U” has officially gone Platinum, marking PARTYNEXTDOOR’s first-ever Platinum-certified project.
PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake are celebrating a major milestone: their collaborative album, $OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U, has officially been certified Platinum by the RIAA. Since its release, the project has sold over 1.6 million units, solidifying its status as a commercial success.
For PARTYNEXTDOOR, this marks the first Platinum-certified album of his career, a career milestone that fans have been waiting for. The 21-track project features a relatively light guest list, including standout appearances from Yebba and Chino Pacas. Among the tracks gaining the most traction are “NOKIA,” “DIE TRYING,” and the Grammy-nominated “SOMEBODY LOVES ME.”
This achievement is particularly notable for Drake, as $OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U was his first major release following a highly publicized and contentious beef with Kendrick Lamar. For those who questioned whether the controversy would affect his commercial appeal, the Platinum certification proves otherwise.
For PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake to achieve Platinum status with what was essentially considered an R&B throwaway album is impressive. It shows that the project has aged exceptionally well and that Drake can practically do whatever he wants.
