Jim Jones is really bar’d up these days.
Jim Jones’ maturation as an artist is something not enough people talk about. After starting out as a hype man for Dipset, he’s evolved into a sharp lyricist with something to say. This past weekend, Capo dropped his brand-new album, The Fall Before The Rise, and it’s a perfect reflection of his growth as a rapper.
The project features only nine tracks, but with Jim’s larger-than-life presence, it feels like twenty. There are no guest appearances, and most songs clock in under three minutes. Sonically, the album shifts between gritty street beats and soulful backdrops, as Jim raps about luxury, life in the trenches, and the hustle that has shaped him into who he is today.
Standout tracks from The Fall Before The Rise include “Summer Where You Been At,” “I’m the Best,” and “Revolution.”
