Lil Baby Snaps Back with Vengeance on New Single “Otha Boy”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Lil Baby is putting belt to ass on folks.

Lil Baby has been rapping like the rent’s due lately — and honestly, we’re here for it. After quieting the “fall off” talk with his solid WHAM release, Baby seems hungrier than ever. Recent controversy with you know who and who may have sparked something in him, because every Wednesday, he’s been dropping pure heat. His latest release, “Otha Boy,” keeps that streak alive.

“Otha Boy” rides on a bass-heavy, menacing trap beat tailor-made for Lil Baby’s sound. Using a grittier, more mumbled delivery, Baby unleashes on anyone doubting his name — from so-called juniors trying to follow in his footsteps to haters talking down on him (Rumor has it, he’s taking shots at Gunna and Offset). He slips in some flexes here and there (of course), but the real draw is his tone — ready for war.

This is the kind of Lil Baby track that reminds us why we crowned him in the first place. “Otha Boy” might just be the start of another serious run.
