Kendrick Lamar & SZA’s ‘Grand National Tour’ Becomes the Highest-Grossing Hip-Hop Tour in History

I’ve honestly lost count of how many records Kendrick Lamar has shattered over the past two years…

Kendrick Lamar and SZA have officially made history. Their massive Grand National Tour has become the highest-grossing hip-hop tour of all time, bringing in a jaw-dropping $332.1 million in total revenue.

Across more than 45 sold-out dates, the duo sold over 1.5 million tickets, pulling an average of 46,000 fans per show and generating an average of $9.8 million per night. These staggering numbers don’t just highlight their immense star power but also the global demand for both artists

The Grand National Tour was just one of several major wins Kendrick Lamar and SZA have shared over the past two years. Beyond dominating the stage together, the duo also delivered what many consider the song of the year with “Luther,” and lit up the world’s biggest stage at the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show of all time. At this point, it’s fair to say hip-hop’s true Kobe and Shaq might just be these two former labelmates.

And for those saying hip-hop is “down bad” this year—think again. From a wave of Grammy nominations for rap albums to Clipse performing at the Vatican, and now Kendrick and SZA’s record-breaking tour, the culture’s still pushing boundaries and collecting wins.
