Drake’s “Headlines” Becomes the Most-Streamed Rap Song on U.S. Spotify Yesterday

I guess the world is d-riding “Headlines” now.

More than 14 years after its release, Drake’s “Headlines” just hit a brand-new milestone—one that proves its longevity is far from slowing down.

Yesterday, the Take Care standout became the most-streamed rap song on U.S. Spotify for the first time ever, an impressive achievement given how long it’s been in the cultural rotation.

Released in 2011 as one of the lead singles from Take Care, “Headlines” has always been synonymous with Drake’s early rise. But seeing it reach a new all-time peak more than a decade later speaks to something deeper: Drake’s music continues to resonate with a new generation just as much as it did with the one that watched him blow up.

This surge in streams isn’t happening in a vacuum, either. Take Care has recently been enjoying a massive resurgence across platforms, fueled by new certifications, chart re-entries, and its strongest streaming numbers in years. Yesterday’s milestone only adds another win to the album’s already legendary run.

People are saying, “Forget today’s music, I want to listen to some s**t from 2011.” That’s cool and sad at the same time.
