RGM RATING

(85.8%)

LOS LEO is someone who lets his soul bleed in most of his tracks, and that’s awesome to listen to for music fans.

He sings with tons of passion, delivers heartfelt lyrics, and works over instrumentals that make every part of your body feel something—sometimes even giving you chills.

With influences from Peter Gabriel, The Police, and Phil Collins (Phil shines through the most), LOS LEO balances experimentation, dark tones, and soulful melodies perfectly in his new project LL-1000.

LOS LEO continues that spirit of raw, expressive music. From a production standpoint, the record seamlessly blends vintage ’80s vibes with futuristic elements. Most instrumentals feature exciting synths, tempos perfect for slow or steady dancing, and splashes of atmospheric charm. You also get stripped-down production on “I’M ON FIRE,” a quirkier, upbeat alternative pop sound in “I MISS YOU,” and a foot-stomping, edgy western-inspired track in “LOS LEO.” Overall, it’s a soothing, universal soundscape that listeners across generations can appreciate.

The record also blends LOS LEO’s bedroom pop with darker, medieval tones, capturing the feeling of instinct, experimentation, and discovery as it unfolded.

It’s the perfect setup for an artist who sings with passion and fire every chance they get—which LOS LEO delivers consistently. Throughout LL-1000, LOS LEO hits us with intensely passionate vocals, strong melodies that get stuck in your head, and a performance that almost feels cinematic. Lyrically, the album dives into the complexities of relationships—disconnect, self-improvement for someone you love, embracing true love, seeking touch and intimacy, and tapping deep into your inner feelings.

What would I change about this project? Absolutely nothing. It’s an acquired taste, carefully crafted, and well worth your time.
