Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
A soothing blend of emotion, genre-bending production, and hypnotic vocals.
Danny Kuttner is a singer–songwriter born in Amsterdam and raised in Israel, and she’s the kind of artist who immediately stands out thanks to her soothing, shape-shifting voice. Her sound moves effortlessly between R&B, contemporary jazz, and nu-soul, making her a refreshing, genre-blurring presence.
Recently, Danny dropped her eleven-track project Lilly, and one of its brightest moments is the single “Knees.”
In “Knees,” Danny Kuttner captures a tense, intimate moment defined by fear, vulnerability, and emotional unraveling. She paints a scene where someone is trembling with hesitation, and instead of pushing them, she gently urges them to choose their own path — even if that means running away.
The production matches the mood perfectly: a calm, groove-driven instrumental with light electronic touches that create space for her voice to float. Danny delivers a hypnotic, almost comforting vocal performance that wraps around you and eases you in. Overall, “Knees” is simply one of those tracks that feels good to listen to, no matter the moment.
