During cuffing season, this track probably goes hard as hell.
“Biggest Fool” stands out as the project’s central love song, and it fully delivers the vibes. The track features a smooth, slick instrumental that balances sensuality with enough punch to make it a true rugged-love anthem.
Jordan B. Martin sets the mood with a passionate, sly vocal performance that makes the chorus unforgettable, while Zayfromthebay follows with confident, bold verses, detailing his ability to captivate and keep his partner hooked. The mix of their styles creates a compelling, irresistible dynamic that works perfectly together.
2. Faded Memories (Ft. B.C)
Anyone can relate to a track like this (Even rich-ass Elon).
In “Faded Memories,” Zayfromthebay reflects on overcoming deep struggles, recalling seasons of loss, financial hardship, and dark thoughts, while crediting resilience, determination, and the Lord for carrying him through.
B.C. complements this with a sly, introspective verse about enduring his own dark days and staying true to his path no matter the obstacles.
The track is backed by smooth, bass-heavy production laced with jazzy elements that give it extra weight and soul. Zayfromthebay delivers a highly infectious, memorable hook alongside impactful verses, while B.C.’s dynamic flow and calm demeanor provide the perfect contrast. 1. Cross Me (Ft. Rockie Fresh)
Both Zayfromthebay and Rockie Fresh put up 40-point triple-doubles on this track.
“Cross Me” rides a dramatic, menacing, trap-leaning instrumental that immediately demands attention. Zayfromthebay attacks it with a rapid-fire flow and aggressive delivery, rapping about leveling up, checking snakes, and staying locked in on positive outcomes. Rockie Fresh counters with a cool, focused, and introspective verse, touching on his faith, financial mindset, and authenticity over his competition. Together, their contrasting styles mesh perfectly with the production, making this the album’s clear standout track.

Zayfromthebay has come through with a new project titled 99.9 FM: Rise & Grind: It’s Our Time, and there is plenty here to appreciate. Most importantly, Zay brings a refreshing sense of purpose to the occasion. From the opening moments, he sounds locked in on telling his story honestly, letting listeners tap into his mindset rather than just hearing surface-level flexing.
From start to finish, Zay speaks on the grind he has been on over the past few years, overcoming obstacles, and wanting to surround himself with genuine, positive people. There is something uplifting about hearing him reflect on growth and perseverance in such a straightforward way. The project leaves you feeling encouraged, like you just listened to someone remind themselves and you that staying focused still matters.
Production-wise, the album explores a solid range of sounds. Zay moves between darker, more menacing backdrops and smoother, R&B-leaning moments. This variety highlights his versatility without pulling him too far away from his core strengths as a rapper, which include confident delivery, multiple flows, and expressive energy.
Where the album occasionally stumbles is in audio quality and certain stylistic choices. Some verses feel overly audacious, and a few tracks could benefit from cleaner mixing. Still, this nine-track effort is an engaging introduction to who Zayfromthebay is and what he stands for.
