YFN Lucci’s music speaks to my damn soul all the time.
If I’m being completely real, outside of Gunna and Playboi Carti, YFN Lucci was one of my favorite Atlanta rappers last year. While a lot of dudes were busy getting caught up in nonsense, Lucci did the opposite: he came home, kept his head down, and focused on making solid music. I respect that. He even quietly repaired some relationships along the way — most notably with Young Thug — which felt like a meaningful step forward.
Now, to kick off 2026, Lucci is back with a new single titled “NUN2SUM.” The track clocks in at under two minutes, but it still manages to pack some emotional weight. Built on moody, melancholic trap production, the beat hits in a way that’s both somber and hard at the same time, setting the perfect tone for reflection rather than flexing.
Lyrically, Lucci sounds grounded and self-aware. He talks about leaning on prayer, navigating conversations with plugs, and acknowledging that his rise wasn’t easy — even if it sometimes felt inevitable. There’s a quiet honesty in how he delivers these bars, like someone speaking from experience instead of trying to prove anything.
What really gives the song its emotional edge, though, are the snippets of his children talking about how much they love and miss him. That detail adds real weight and vulnerability, turning “NUN2SUM.” into more than just another street record. All in all, this is a good intro to the year for Lucci.

Quincy is the creator of Ratings Game Music. He loves writing about music, taking long walks on beaches, and spaghetti that fights him back.
