50 Cent Teases New A&E True-Crime Series

After recent documentary success, 50 Cent doubles down on gritty, real-world storytelling.

50 Cent continues to quietly build one of the most impressive second acts in entertainment. According to Deadline, the rapper-turned-mogul is developing a new true-crime series titled Gang Wars for A&E.

The show will explore some of America’s most infamous gang rivalries, pulling back the curtain on the street battles, betrayals, and power struggles that helped shape the modern criminal landscape.

Described as raw and unfiltered, Gang Wars promises unprecedented access and never-before-heard accounts from those closest to the conflicts. Rather than relying on surface-level storytelling, the series aims to show how these rivalries formed, escalated, and continue to have ripple effects today. It’s the kind of gritty, high-stakes subject matter that 50 Cent has shown a knack for handling with both tension and clarity.

This announcement comes on the heels of strong praise for 50’s recent work on Netflix’s Sean Combs: The Reckoning documentary, which further cemented his reputation as a serious television producer.

While his music career made him famous, his behind-the-camera work has been even more consistent over the last decade, spanning scripted dramas, documentaries, and now true crime.

Say whatever you want about 50 Cent as a rapper, but when it comes to television, he clearly knows how to put together compelling programs. If Gang Wars delivers on its premise, the conversation might shift even further. At this point, it wouldn’t be wild to argue that 50 Cent has become just as impactful — if not more — as a television producer than he ever was on the mic.
