I think NBA YoungBoy forgot to take his Ritalin before making this track.
NBA YoungBoy may or may not be dropping a new album titled Slime Cry this Friday, which would already make for a chaotic release day alongside projects from A$AP Rocky, DaBaby, and The Game.
I say may because he deleted the post announcing the drop, leaving everything firmly in limbo. Still, for those holding out hope, we just got a potential sign of life: a brand-new single called “Creep Up On Ya,” which will likely land on the album if it does arrive.
On the track, NBA YoungBoy raps like the rent on his condo in hell is overdue, delivering one of the most aggressive and unhinged flows of his career, which is saying a lot. He sounds fully locked in, threatening to go full trap Rambo on his enemies if necessary.
At times, it barely matters what he’s saying; the intensity alone carries the record. Thankfully, the production knows when to stay out of the way, pairing his chaos with a relatively subdued, Casio-style piano beat that gives him all the space he needs to absolutely wild out.
Question: Are you supposed to enjoy a track like this, or is it meant to test your blood pressure? Just asking.
