YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s latest project, ‘Slime Cry,’ marks his first solo-heavy release of the year and aims for another Billboard top 5.
NBA YoungBoy is gearing up for another Billboard 200 milestone. His latest project, Slime Cry, is aiming for a top 5 debut with 73,000 units in its opening week, according to @HITSDD. If it hits, this would mark YoungBoy’s tenth top 5 entry.
Slime Cry is the first of what could be multiple releases from NBA YoungBoy this year. Last year alone, he dropped two albums: Make America Slime Again (49k first-week units, debuted at #6) and DESHAWN (11k first-week units). When you combine both projects, the track count balloons past 43. Yeah… that’s a lot.
Notably, Slime Cry comes with no guest appearances, a bold move in today’s streaming-heavy, feature-driven landscape—and one that deserves recognition. The album spans 30 tracks, with “Another Episode” currently gaining the most traction on streaming services.
It will be interesting to see how Slime Cry continues to perform and age on the charts. For now, though, 73K first-week sales is a very impressive way for the album to start.
