DaBaby’s latest album signals reflection, recalibration, and forward momentum.
DaBaby’s BE MORE GRATEFUL officially debuts at #25 on this week’s Billboard 200, moving 24K units. While that number may not immediately jump off the page, it does not tell the full story.
The album runs 23 tracks deep with only three features (Twin, Hunxho, and Coi Leray), signaling a clear intent. This is DaBaby putting the spotlight back on himself. Sonically, the project moves between familiar club-ready bangers and more introspective cuts. There is fun here, but there is also reflection, and that balance makes the album more compelling than some may expect.
Context matters. After reaching the mountaintop with BLAME IT ON BABY debuting at #1 with 124K units, DaBaby’s momentum stalled when Baby on Baby 2 opened with just 16.5K. Since then, he has been navigating a public redemption arc following backlash from past controversial remarks. Against that backdrop, BE MORE GRATEFUL does not feel like a victory lap. It feels like a reset.
The numbers are trending upward, and more importantly, the music feels steadier. Good music still pulls people in, and BE MORE GRATEFUL proves DaBaby is not done trying to earn that attention back.
