Let it all out, Mary, let it all out!
Mary Middlefield wasn’t put on this earth to play it safe. She’s here to shove boundaries, flip tables, and make you uncomfortable in the most productive way possible, and “Wake Up!” proves it.
Driven by thunderous drums and rugged, crashing guitar work, “Wake Up!” sounds like emotional overload set to music. Lyrically, Mary digs into self-loathing and emotional decay, exposing how internal hatred can rot into something loud, ugly, and confrontational when projected outward. There’s no redemption arc here and no moral bow tied at the end, just brutal honesty. It’s the sound of catching yourself at your worst and refusing to look away.
Her vocal performance is unhinged in the best way. She oscillates between controlled restraint and full-blown release, letting moments breathe before detonating them seconds later. Somehow, the chaos feels therapeutic, like screaming into a mirror and finally hearing yourself answer back.
“Wake Up!” is explosive, uncomfortable, and deeply human. I highly recommend you give the track below a shot.
