Wow. Pac just achieved something his “enemies” were never able to accomplish (Say the “enemies” part in his voice).
“All Eyez On Me” by 2Pac has officially been inducted into the Grammy Museum’s Hall of Fame. It becomes just the ninth rap album to receive that honor.
The hip-hop landscape has evolved dramatically since 2Pac’s prime, but one truth has never changed. He remains one of the most influential artists to ever touch a microphone. When your impact is that massive, the catalog has to match. The Grammy committee clearly believes All Eyez On Me is that defining body of work.
Released in 1996, the double-disc project is arguably his most popular. It features standout records like “California Love (Remix)” with Roger Troutman, not the original version, along with “All Eyez On Me” and “Ambitions Az A Ridah.” The album also includes appearances from Nate Dogg, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Redman, Method Man, K-Ci and JoJo, and many more.
From its iconic artwork to its undeniable tracklist, All Eyez On Me remains a landmark in hip-hop history. I’m glad it’s being recognized to this level.
