The Cleopatra Way Floats High on “Butterflies”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Wolverhampton’s rising star turns red flags into neon lights.

You know the phrase “it’s my way or the highway?” Scrap that. It is The Cleopatra Way or the highway.

Hailing from Wolverhampton, The Cleopatra Way moves with flair, confidence, and a fearless willingness to experiment harder than most of her peers. That kind of creative risk-taking usually signals one thing: she cares. She is not here to blend in. She is here to bend the room around her sound.

Her latest single, “Butterflies,” proves it.

On the track, The Cleopatra Way dives headfirst into falling for someone so intensely that it feels borderline dangerous. We are talking dizzy, ignore-the-red-flags, might-need-a-helmet type of love. The emotions are messy, impulsive, and painfully relatable. Yet somehow, the song itself feels like a sugar rush.

The production features an upbeat, feverish tempo with glossy, hyperactive drum patterns and airy, glitchy synth textures reminiscent of the PinkPantheress-style bounce that feels both nostalgic and futuristic. It is the kind of instrumental that refuses to sit still.

Vocally, she delivers an intoxicating, slightly emotional hook that lingers long after it ends. In the verses, she sounds effortlessly cool, skating over the beat with charisma and control.

All in all, “Butterflies” is chaotic love wrapped in glitter. More importantly, it feels like a bright sign pointing toward an even brighter future.
