There aren’t enough supergroups in hip-hop.
One of the greatest collections in hip-hop history may have formed right under our noses. The Scythe, featuring Denzel Curry, A$AP Ferg, TiaCorine, Bktherula, and Key Nyata, all number-one options in their own lanes, have officially linked up. What should you expect? Ass-kicking music at the highest level. We already got a taste with their earlier track “Lit Effect.” Now, they are back with a new single with the title of their name, “The Scythe.”
People are already defensive about the group, and honestly, that energy makes sense. On “The Scythe,” they make it crystal clear that no one is messing with them, delivering lyrics that frame them as ready for smoke, separate from the weak, and prepared to protect their collective at all costs.
The chorus is easily the standout moment. It is a heart-pumping group chant that feels built for live shows and mosh pits. From there, TiaCorine and Ferg slide through with slick verses, while Denzel attacks his part with high-octane intensity, sounding like someone who redlines every gear. Overall, this track cranks the anticipation even higher for their upcoming album, which arrives in a few days.
Cross them, and you might get cooked to a fricassee.
