Yebba’s latest single sets the stage for her upcoming album ‘Jean.’
I can lie and say I knew Yebba since she started playing AAU ball, but that would not be true. In reality, I discovered her after she appeared on “Yebba’s Heartbreak” off Drake’s Certified Lover Boy album. Now, she’s preparing to drop a new album called Jean in a few days, and I believe it will prove that she is a remarkable talent.
To get us excited for Jean, Yebba released a new single titled “Yellow Eyes.” The track focuses on lingering haunted memories, the struggle to move on, and the tension between yearning for the past and confronting change and loss. Her soothing and beautiful vocals glide effortlessly over delicate production, which quietly sneaks up on you with every listen.
This track will hit just as hard in a flower garden that sells IPAs as it would anywhere else. Overall, “Yellow Eyes” is another step in cementing Yebba’s status as a uniquely gifted artist. With Jean on the horizon, she continues to prove why her talent is undeniable.
