Hbk Ka$h Chases Instagram Royalty Dreams With “Fantasy”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Hbk Ka$h aims for pop greatness with fearless ambition.

Hbk Ka$h is on a bold mission. He believes he can become a more hip-hop-driven version of his idol, Michael Jackson. That is a towering ambition, but there are real reasons to at least entertain the possibility.

He was a finalist on America’s Got Talent, which means he has already proven he can command a national stage. Beyond that, there are flashes in his music where his vocal flair mirrors the smooth elasticity that made his hero unforgettable.

His latest single, “Fantasy,” leans into vulnerability. On the track, Hbk keeps it honest about a woman he follows on Instagram. He wants her, but fear lingers. His history with beautiful women has not exactly been triumphant, and rejection feels like a shadow hovering nearby. The twist is that she has also struggled with men. Two romantics with bruised histories circling each other like cautious satellites.

Musically, “Fantasy” glides on smooth R&B production stitched together with subtle trap elements. Hbk delivers an intensely passionate vocal performance, and you can practically hear the longing stretching through each note. The chorus loops in a way that feels intentional, almost hypnotic, until it plants itself firmly in your head.

If ambition is the spark, this record feels like fuel. All things considered, “Fantasy” sounds like a hit in the making.
