Jacques Remixes Ty Dolla $ign and Jeremih’s “The Light” (Review & Stream)

I really hope Jacquees makes a career out of doing covers.

Jacquees is clearly one of R&B’s standout artists. His debut album “4275” was one of the pleasantest of surprises in music this year, and in my humbling opinion, his flipping of Ella Mai’s “Trip” hit last week was special. Well today, we are blessed with yet another cover from the braided crooner, and this time around, he flips the smooth/old school sounding “The Light.”

I love how Jacquees sings with the same level of passion on this version of “The Light” as both Ty Dolla $ign and Jeremih did on theirs. I also like how he kept the lyrics to the song raunchy, giving a f**k about whether or not the scalawags are offended.

Jacquees is the truth.
