E-40 constructed rap’s version of the Golden State Warriors for this joint.
This past Saturday, Drake dropped two new songs called “Money In The Grave” and “Omerta.” Both fell in line with the Canadian rapper’s winning ways in the midst of the Toronto Raptors’ successful playoff run. Today, E-40, an Oakland native, decided to do some celebrating on his own, releasing a new track called “Chase The Money” that features vibes that will go good with a consolation party.
“Chase The Money” is E-40’s song, but lets be real, he isn’t the most important player on it. Don’t get me wrong, he did a great job of starting s**t off with some hyphy/animated bars, but in the end of the day, it’s the other guys on the track that we came to see. With that being said, I thought Quavo and Roddy Ricch did a fantastic job of providing the song with a dynamic hook, A$AP Ferg did a great job of giving off explosive energy on his verse, and ScHoolBoy Q shined being his violent/gangsta/unapologetic self on his verse. When you combine everyone’s contributions on this track together, what you get is a fun/clubby record that has minimal flaws.
Does E-40 have himself a hit? Who said 51 year olds can’t have fun?
