Why isn’t Roy Woods a bigger artist?
For those that forget, Roy Woods is a triple threat: He can rap, he can sing, and he can make beats. In his newest single titled “Shot Again,” he does the three things I just mentioned, in addition to a few other things we need to give him respect for.
“Shot Again” is powered by this dark ass instrumental that I’m sure was made by a n***a that mean-mugs all the time. Over this instrumental, Roy Woods gifts us with gritty bars about going to war with foes, sly bars about rocking luxurious s**t, and playa-like bars about snatching women up. Additionally, Woods hits us with melodies that are infectious and notes that are high on the track.
