THE REAL TESTAMENT II
Plies
OVERALL RATING (C)
Respect needs to be put on Plies’ name at all times!
I’m won’t try to convince you that Plies is a legend, but I will tell you that I believe he has played a major influence on all of the rappers in the world that are overly savage/vulgar (I’m thinking about you, DaBaby). In The Real Testament II, his first album since 2010, the 43-year old rapper doesn’t hold back when it comes to savagery, hustling, macking, and downright nastiness. He also finds ways to make hits, even recruiting an artist like YK Osiris to play his R&B plug on a song on “Don’t Ask.” All in all, The Real Testament II should give you a quick reminder of what unapologetic southern music sounds like.
