FREE PORN, CHEAP DRUGS
G-Eazy
OVERALL RATING (??)
WTF has happened to G-Eazy?
These last couple of weeks, G-Eazy has dropped covers to songs that people in the bando don’t know exists. By releasing “Free Porn, Cheap Drugs,” it’s clear that the Bay Area rapper (Yes, he is a rapper) wants to continue veering towards a genre that is the exact opposite of hip-hop.
“Free Porn, Cheap Drugs” is weird as s**t. On it, G-Eazy sounds like a dude that accidentally sprinkled bath salt on his breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He also sings over a beat that sounds like it was made in an abandoned woods area. I get it, G-Eazy is trying to pay homage to folk legends as much as he can these days, but I think I speak for his true fans when I say the following: Get your ass back to making hip-hop music, fool!
Why is it a bunch of white rappers are starting to abandon their hip-hop ways? Do they think that they can get COVID if they continue to make hip-hop music?

Quincy is the creator of Ratings Game Music. He loves writing about music, taking long walks on beaches, and spaghetti that fights him back.

you just leave it there? strong start but seems that eventually didn’t have anything to say.[
Lol I didn’t want to go too hard on him because I think he’s been hypnotized by something greater than you or I. I’m hoping he will snap out of it.
I actually really like the song, I like a lot G-Eazy’s older stuff like from his album “These Things Happen” this a completely different G-Eazy and in a lot of his songs from his previous albums have been really dark and he talks about how he has been kind of battling himself, so maybe this is his happy stage. Don’t get me wrong, I totally love G-Eazy’s hip-hop but it’s ok for artists to try new things out because at the end of the day, if they’re happy then I think that is all we should care about because there has been way too many people in the hip-hop and rap genre that has died from different causes and a lot of them are from drugs sadly. So I say if this is his way of being happy and doing what he loves then good for him!
Also, just want to say I am not in anyway trying to argue with you or talk negative to you at all!
All positive vibes here!!
Kaylee, thanks so much for the comment and for reading!
I’m being semi-sarcastic on the post. I think it’s cool that he has decided to make music that is different from hip-hop. Artists should always be open to switching up styles. At the end of the day, All that matters is that he stays true to himself — even if that means messing around with other genres. I also do hope he’s happy, because I know he has been in a dark place before.
Thanks for the great comment again!
