Meek Mill Reminds Us Where He’s From On “Otherside Of America”

OTHER SIDE OF AMERICA

MEEK MILL

OVERALL RATING (????)

Pastor Meek preaches on this song.

Say what you want about Meek Mill, but don’t you ever say he isn’t for the cause. Throughout the years, the Philly native has been as vocal as any rapper in the game about racial injustice. On “Other Side Of America,” Meek continues to show support for the black and brown communities, doing it in a way that is beyond invigorating.

I just love how “Other Side Of America” feels on my soul. As a black man, when I hear the riveting beat that powers the song, I get hella amped up. Additionally, when I hear Meek spit bars about being a black man that got it out of the mud despite having to endure a system that does everything in its power to make us fail, I get goosebumps. The cherry on the top is how the Dreamchasers MC drops his bars with a level of cockiness that is hard to ignore on the song.

Jesus, I love being black!
