Eminem and Kid Cudi made a point about the fierce face mask debate in the US and UK. The song “The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim Shady” is their first collaboration. They discuss issues such as addiction recovery, rehab, the current issues raised by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the police brutality. Eminem’s lyrics say: “Bunch of halfwits up in office. Half of us are walking around like a zombie apocalypse. Other half are just pissed off and don’t want to wear a mask and they’re just scoffin’. And that’s how you end up catchin’ the shit off ’em. I just used the same basket as you shoppin’, now I’m in a fuckin’ casket from you coughin’.” In Scotland wearing a face mask in shops became mandatory, even though the way Scotland’s first minister Nicola Sturgeon articulated the reasons is vastly different from Eminem’s style. In the UK the question has been raised why so many ministers are not wearing a mask during public speeches. Boris Johnson has not made a single appearance with a mask since it became mandatory for the citizens. The chancellor, Rishi Sunak served food at Wagamama without a mask. VenkiRamakrishnan, the president of the Royal Society said that not wearing a mask should be looked at with just as much intolerance as driving while drunk and not wearing a seatbelt. Kid Cudi’s daughter Vada announced the Eminem Kid Cudi duo on her Twitter.
HOPES FOR PRIVATE SHOWS IN 2020
There are no venues across Canada and the United States that host the performances by star rappers such as Eminem and Kid Cudi. The music industry was shut down because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some venues such as bars hosting indie musicians or clubs organizing performances with pop-stars were shut down along with big arenas and stadiums. In June the majority of the countries entered phase one of the reopening and places are allowed to conduct their business. The star performers will only renew their shows in 2021, but before that, US and Canadian casinos will be offering private shows, where the pop-culture stars will perform for a VIP audience. During the shows, VIP guests have a chance to play casino online games along with traditional table games while listening to their favorite artist’s live performance. Reportedly, there is a long list of performers that the casinos might provide the space for, including Eminem, Kid Cudi, Drake, Justin Bieber, Michael Buble, and more. Turns out that not only the audiences miss their stars but the stars miss their audiences too, so they are eager to sing for their fans again. Especially the artists who have a big number of new songs accumulated, that they have not performed for the live audience yet. Wouldn’t it be amazing to be the first one to listen to those songs while enjoying all the casino games that there are?! Apparently, there usually are strict dress codes that can vary from classic to periodically themed. So, there might be an 80s party where everyone will show up dressed as if from the previous century or a classic night when the audience will have to wear tuxedos and gowns.
TWITTER SLAMS EMINEM’S ‘JUST THE TWO OF US’ REFERENCE
Naya Rivera the star of the show Glee tragically died, while taking a boat ride with her 4-year-old son. She managed to save her son but had no strength to save herself. Before the accident, she posted a picture of her son and herself under the captions “Just the Two of Us”. For no actual reason, some users started linking the post with Eminem’s 1997 song called “97 Bonnie and Clyde” which is sometimes called “Just the Two of Us”, where a mother, a father, and a child go to a lake. The majority of the users criticized linking the post and the accident with the song. They say that it is insensitive and incredibly speculative to just assume that a song with gruesome lyrics from 21 years ago, had any connection with either post or with the accident, especially considering that there are so many other songs with the same title.
